Emergency Order Hours and Activities
All of us at Kirkwood Animal Hospital are committed to doing our best in complying with the guidelines for minimizing COVID-19. During the mandated “Shelter in Place,” veterinary care is deemed an essential health service.
Open for Emergencies, Sick and Injured Patients
We are open during our normal hours of 8AM-6PM Monday through Friday and 8AM-Noon on Saturday for emergencies, sick and injured patients ONLY.
We will postpone all elective surgeries, non-urgent doctor or technician appointments, and annual wellness check-ups (as vaccines are protective well beyond their annual due dates) through April 7 or later as required by the State or County.
All other health concerns should be addressed as urgent as delaying care may lead to more serious consequences. For example, a very itchy patient can readily develop skin and ear infections.
What is routine and elective -- and postponed? Annual wellness check-ups, dentals, spays, neuters, anal gland expressions, nail trims, vaccinations, etc.
What is an emergency or urgent care case -- and addressed? Vomiting, diarrhea, trouble breathing, bleeding, lethargy, severe limping, severe skin issues and ear infections, etc.
Medications
If you need medication refills, they can be picked up during normal business hours. If you have special order medications, please call us to order them and they will be available as normal.
Wait to be Called
We try to keep our waiting room relatively free of clients to ensure social distancing. Please call when you arrive and wait in your vehicle. We will call you when the doctor is ready to see you.
We apologize for the inconvenience. We are certain all of you, like us, are adjusting and making the best out of this situation. Always feel free to call us at (408) 374-5850 should you have questions or concerns.
